The highly anticipated follow-up to Bang. Echo is the second book in the Black Lotus series.
It's been said the longest echo ever measured lasted 75 seconds, but I can assure you, this will last much longer. The bang deafened the world around me, muting everything into nullity, allowing the reflection of its destruction to live far beyond its intended life.
It will follow me forever, destroying me—destroying you.
You want answers?
So do I.
*Due to the dark and explicit nature of this book, it is recommended for mature audiences only as some scenes may be particularly disturbing.

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - Not a five star rating because I enjoyed reading this book, just giving props to a series that knocks me off kilter again, & again, & again! The first book was so phenomenal because Nina had three men hanging by a string, leaving three dead in her wake, and I adored Declan so much that I didn't feel like I wanted to read book #2. Nina, now referred to as Elizabeth Archer, is saddled with grief but not because of her dead husband Bennett. Her heart was given to Declan & he still holds it in the palm of his hand. She even travels to Scotland to see the mansion she thought she might share with him someday. There is no way to politely say how messed up Elizabeth is after she has caused all of this death & destruction that brings her no happiness. No one can blame her for going mad after all that she's been through & now finding out about her birth mother is like the final stab in her heart. "Why am I so unlovable?" When Declan tries to figure out who Elizabeth really is she answers, "I'm nobody." That is how far she has fallen to the bottom. Declan doesn't help - he is sweet & shows signs of compassion but after someone walks away from you when you've been shot? "Do you have any idea what it's like to love the person you hate?" That my friends is the book in a nutshell. For Declan to mirror some of the abuse Elizabeth has experienced & then for Elizabeth to consent to it as her due punishment - these two are both insane & maybe they are perfect for each other. Elizabeth can't catch a break, after being forced to do unspeakable things to her foster father & Pike, now there is more of the same & Declan has some choices to make. "We're the reflection of each other's monsters." In the end Elizabeth has to figure out if she can continue to be with Declan. She loses him either way, by walking away or staying & watching their love die a painful death. As Nina she was a fighter with a backbone of steel, but as Elizabeth revealing all of the demons of her past she is completely at her lowest & weakest. Yep this book was incredibly hard to read!! It is violent & crazy & messed up when Declan and Elizabeth deserve one little ounce of peace & happiness to recover & regroup.

Echo Black Lotus #2 Volume 2 EK Blair Adept Edits Books Reviews

Devastated, simply devastated!

This is the second book in the Black Lotus Series. This is the second book I read from EK.

I purchased this book the minute it came out. I need to know what happen to Declan, I need to know what was going to happen with Nina/Elizabeth. I read and read.
I cried, I was an emotional wreck. Then I had to stop, I couldn't keep going. I was happy then I was so sad and mad.
Today, out of nowhere I picked it up OMFG again I am emotionally drained. How can a person endure so much. I love Elizabeth and Declan. These characters have a part of my heart forever. I was left with so many questions some answers and hope for Elizabeth.
This is a must read series. Happy Reading!
Holy crap this book just blew my mind.... review to come I need to take a moment to sit in a corner and rock until I get my emotions together....

So after reading Bang, I was in shock I didn't know what to expect, all I knew before I went in was that I like the author (because of her previous trilogy) and that I was in the mood for something different. And I was not disappointed.

Bang held me captivated I was disturbed and I was a bit intrigued, but most of all I was so woven into the mystery that when the book ended I was distraught and confused. I needed Echo, ASAP!

The wait for Echo was tortuous because the main thought on everyone's mind was who is alive?!

Not me though, my only thought was When is Bennett coming back.

Anyway, reading Echo was intense. It was dark, way darker than Bang and at some point it had me cringing and other points I just had to take 'emotional breaks' to gather myself and continue. 74% in I couldn't continue I set the book down for a whole day before I had the courage to go back in and complete it. But the way was enough because I was able to fly through the last parts which were the most intense.

Now since we know there is a third book we would expect nothing more than a huge cliffhanger from E.K. and that exactly what she did. She left us hanging with a multitude of unanswered questions like Bang, but this is worst because she gave you bits of information that sends your mind wondering...

E.K. Blair is a genius and it seriously amazes me that someone could write such dark and disturbing stories.... But I love it and you should give it a try. Now I must sit and wait for Hush.

I know this review was vague but it has to be, you need to go in this thing blind... Just know you will be seriously mind-fucked again!
Echo was more than what I ever expected EK Blair to come up with. To have these thoughts come up in someone's mind and develop it into such an illusive story is not only brilliant but it is true talent. This book was so detailed written. It was tragic, suspenseful, depressing, DARK and romantic all at the same time.

Nina- that's the definition of a strong ass female. The BS she's been through, many can't relate to. I don't agree with some of the decisions she's made but I most definitely understand them. I've read books about broken females who have experienced hell but never have I read a book so well written that makes you picture every disgusting scene this poor woman experienced since she was a little girl.

Many surprising turn of events occurred as well with people you would've least suspected of, however, Declan, that's a real man right there. He's also broken due to Nina but the love they have for each other will remain.

I'm happy a lot more was revealed in this book and we got to find out about Nina's HORRIBLE mother. I also love how we got to learn everything about Declan. I was shocked as each relevation came out and more than excited as Declan and Nina took care of the situation.

EK Blair, you are a true talent. Your books are amazing!! I am truly a fan!!! Please release the next book ASAP!!!!
